1993年11月17日，江泽民主席赴西雅图出席亚太经济合作组织领导人非正式会议途经旧金山时，在中国驻旧金同总领事馆与美国100多家大公司的总裁和高级管理人员会面。江泽民主席对美国企业家们说，中国的对外开放是全方位的，面向世界所有国家。在这挑战与机遇并存，经济竞争日趋激烈的今天，相信美国的企业界是不会让眼前的机遇失之交臂的。
President Jiang Zemin met with more that 100 presidents and CEOs of big US corporations in the Chinese Consulate-General in San Francisco on November 17, 19993 on his way to Seattle to attend the Informal APEC Leadership Meeting. Jiang told the US entrepreneure that China's opening to the outside world covered all domains and was orientated toward all countries of the world. At a time today when challenges and opportunitoies and economic competition became increasingly fierce, he believed that the US entrepreneurs would not let the present opportunities slip through their fingers.
