说到世界遗产，我们既感到自豪，又难免有深深的忧虑。这并不奇怪。中国古代大思想家孟子说过：“生于忧患而死于安乐”。对今天世界遗产现状的忧虑，正可转化为明天的积极的行动。但愿苏州会议以后，我们的世界——拥有这么多伟大遗产的世界——会变得更加美丽。

When mentioning World Heritage，we feel both proudandconcerned.The reason is simple.Mengzi，one of Chineseancientphilosophers once said″Life springs from sorrow andcalamity，deathcomes from ease and pleasure.″Concerns of the currentcondition mayprompt a series of aspiring activities in thefuture.We hopethat，after this session in Suzhou，our world filledwith such agreat amount of heritages，willpresent a more dazzlingand beautifulscene.
