中秋节马上到了。“月到中秋分外明。”（The moon displays its full splendor at mid-autumn.）传统的中秋节活动主要有祭月（offer sacrifices to moon）、赏月（enjoy a bright full moon）和吃月饼（eat moon cake）等。现在的月饼花样翻新——鱼翅（shark’s fin）和鲍鱼（abalone）都被做成了月饼馅（the fillings of moon cake）。你还可能收到亲朋好友通过短信和电子邮件发来的“电子月饼”（electronic moon cake）。
最能体现国人在中秋之际所思所感的语言，莫过于苏轼《水调歌头·明月几时有》中的千古名句：
人有悲欢离合，月有阴晴圆缺：Men have sorrows or joys， they part or meet again/
The moon may be bright or dim， she may wax or wane.但愿人长久，千里共婵娟：May we live a long life/
And together share， the beauty of the moonlight/Though thousands of miles apart.▲
