Man up is a expression that has become more and more popular recently. It is used to tell somebody to be brave， or take control of a difficult situation. The phrase plays on peoples’idea that a man should be strong， responsible and calm， so if a guy is scared to do something， or wants to run away from his responsibilities， his friends may tell him to ‘man up!’.
