Look forward to (V. + ing) sth.

Next month, I am looking forward to traveling to Australia.

Next month, I will go to Australia.

Do these 2 sentences have the same meaning? The answer is "no". "Look forward to" is expressing the future and also expressing the excitement which you feel because you really WANT to do it. The truth is next month my boss is sending me to Australia for a business trip, so I am really NOT looking forward to going there.——Allen Mak
