This is an expression that comes from cheating in football games. Sometimes players would move the goal from its original position to make it harder for the other team to score. We also can use this expression to talk about somebody that changes the terms of a deal. For example: "My boss told me I could get a promotion if I sold 20 contracts, but when I got close he changed it to 25, I'm so sick of him moving the goalposts!"
改变游戏规则
这个表达方式来源于足球比赛中发生的欺骗行为。有时候,运动员会改变球原来的位置,目的是为对方球队进球得分设置障碍。我们同样也可以用这个表达方式来表示某人改变交易条件(或者说游戏规则)。例如:“我的老板告诉我如果能卖出20张合同,我就能获得升职,但是在我快达到这个目标的时候,他把升职条件改成需卖出25张合同,对于他这种擅自改变游戏规则的行为我感到恶心。”
