发展中国家的所有艾滋病患者提供药物。
据路透社报道,曼德拉在闭幕式上发表讲话说:“艾滋病是对全人类发起的战争,这是一场需要将全世界所有人都动
员起来的战争。我们必须找到方法,令所有患病的人都得到治疗,不管他能否支付医疗费用、不管他居住在世界的任何角落…
…”曼德拉的讲话 赢得了与会代表长时间的鼓掌欢迎。
据统计,在非洲1000名艾滋病患者中只有1人能够得到西方先进药物的治疗。专家预测,如果艾滋病患者无法得
到救治,到2010年世界上艾滋病患者的数量将比现在增加一倍。但目前在很多国家,其中也包括南非,艾滋病治疗工作开
展得还十分缓慢。
第14届世界艾滋病大会于7月7日晚在西班牙东北部城市巴塞罗那开幕。本届大会的主题是“知识与行动承诺”,
任务是促进各国政府肩负起对抗艾滋病的责任。参加会议的有来自世界各国的政府代表、科学家,医务工作者和社会工作者共
